Bonded Storage Facilities

Here at Vino Bay Assets we provide our customers a choice of how they would prefer their wine to be stored. As our customer, you are free to have your wine stored in any facility of your choosing and we will be happy to arrange secure transport to anywhere in the world. However, as this wine has been purchased for investment purposes, we highly recommend that it be stored in a professional bonded facility. With that in mind, we have secured two of the world's leading bonded wine storage facilities. Not only will this ensure the wine is properly cared for, thus protecting its value in the market, and avoid the unnecessary paying of duty and taxes, but also makes its resale at a later date a much easier and more secure process.

The conditions must be perfect so the wine can mature properly and realise its maximum potential thus protecting your valuable investment against deterioration. The wines are fully insured for their full replacement value, both in storage and in transit. The overall benefits of our system are:

  • Insured at full replacement value
  • Wine maintained in optimum conditions with controlled temperature, humidity and lighting
  • Security surveillance 24/7
  • Recorded personal ownership
  • Wines cannot be removed from Bond without owners written consent
  • No VAT
  • No duty
  • Independent inspections of wines on receipt and departure

STORAGE IN BORDEAUX
As of June 2009, French law changed in regards to wine being held in bond. It is now possible for the first time in history to store your wine indefinitely in a professional facility mere kilometres away from the chateaux in which the wine was produced and bottled. The benefits of this are very appealing, as the more distance the wine travels over its life the more danger there is of the wine being damaged in some way. Wines that have the simplest and most secure travel and storage history are more desirable to the collector and therefore command the highest resale prices in market.

Our storage facility in Bordeaux is the Bordeaux City Bond. This facility is brand new and joint-owned by the Bordeaux Chamber of Commerce, Vinexpo, and 12 of the largest negociants of the region, thus assuring the attention to quality and proper handling of the region's finest wines. With BCB you also receive real time secure online access to up to date information on your wine.

Please see www.bordeauxcitybond.eu for more information.

'This is not just for storage of Bordeaux wines,' Dunoguier told decanter.com, 'but for Bordeaux investors in particular it will provide an excellent guarantee of provenance which is increasingly important when trading wine through auction houses.'

Due to the French Law this service is only available to Non EU Members

STORAGE IN THE UK
For those clients who prefer to keep their assets closer to home, we have the London City Bond, Tilbury. LCB's history dates back to 1870 and is the country's leading privately owned bonded warehouse with a reputation for being at the forefront of progress and development in fine wine storage. Each case of wine stored here is given their unique Certificate of Pristine Storage which authenticates that each bottle has been laid down in correct conditions whilst in their care.
Visits to the facility by customers are encouraged and full tours complimentary!

Please see www.lcb.co.uk for more information.

NB. If you decide to store your wines personally, please be aware that the conditions in which your bottles are kept will reflect on its value. Like any consumable rare product it must be stored in the correct conditions and carry full provenance.
